If you're going to use a USB hub, use one that is externally powered to be safe. You can also charge it to full and it'll consume less power.

USB C charging on n3dsXL board?
I was wondering if there is any difference between the current N3DSXL boards and the first batch. I know that the USB charging cables weren't connected on the first group, but are now. Is it safe to attach the wires on the first batch of the N3DSXL boards?
