The guy meant, and linked to, an actual physical filter (aka ground loop isolator) which would go in your equipment chain.

Loopy used to include one for his 3DS capture card until he got the audio working through USB, but the DS Phat capture card never had that.

Both the original DS and the DS Lite have a GBA slot, but only the original DS is compatible with the capture card.

Yeah, no problems. I think the USB charging that was mentioned on the order page was a separate mod in addition to the capture board.

The DS capture card doesn't do audio over USB like the 3DS capture card. You need a line-in port, or a device that gives you a line-in port. I used a "Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Audio System with THX SB1095" back in the day but those have gone up in price for some reas...
