Loopy! The Production Of 3DS XL Ending

Post by Gam3rsmedia » Sat Aug 30, 2014 9:08 am

Nintendo must of heard of your awesome capture cards and in their attempt to stop you from being able to get new 3DS XL's they created a new console that is the exact same thing except for a little better and a complete change of the PBC board or something like that. But its okay, I'm still going to buy you're 3DS XL because your awesome!

Nintendo's greed grows by the second.

This is bullsh*t.

The production of the 3DS XL will not stop immediately with the release of the New Nintendo 3DS (LL / XL).
They even don't have a release date except for Japan.

Ah its not bullshit its a fact. Once the holiday season ends in the US, they will likely aim for a summer release of the 3DS LL. Which means they will be stopping production of the 3DS XL considering its an older model and they are wanting people to upgrade to the newer ones. Stores may still carry them for about 2-3 months after the release buts its going to become increasingly harder to get them new.

First, there will be no Nintendo 3DS LL outside of Japan as in the other parts of the world it is called XL.

Second, please name an official source that states that the 3DS LL/XL will no longer be produced. (Read: They will be selling it as long as possible.)

Third, the New Nintendo 3DS (LL) has nothing to do with the capture card, it's just an upgrade to the 3DS with more power and a C-Stick among other new features.

Just because something new comes out doesn't mean they will stop selling them immediately...

If you'd remember, DSi's came out and it took... what seemed like 2 years before DS lites went out of stock from stores.

Same thing can be said about the DS brand since it is now over 3 years in for 3DSes and I believe at 2 years in they were still selling the DSi XLs brand new.

Just because something "new" comes out, unless Nintendo actually says it (which that direct did not say anything whatsoever about it) there is no set plans for production to be ended yet.

"Play games that the current version of the console can’t, including Xenoblade Chronicles, a game which is being ported to the New 3DS."

I highly doubt they are going to call it the "New" Nintendo 3DS XL, if the new games for the system wont be able to be played on the regular 3DS or 3DS XL that could become a problem.

Like think about it, majority of people in the US didn't even know the Wii U was a new system, they thought it was an upgraded version of the original Wii. You really think they will name the system the exact same name if some or all of the newer games can only be played on that system?

You mean like the DS and DSi? Those were the same system, except for a few upgrades, and there were a few games that could only be played on the DSi. Who knows what they'll call it outside of Japan, but chances are they'll call it the New 3DS and New 3DS XL in the states. If Nintendo thought the Wii and Wii U were good naming conventions, what makes you think they'll do anything different?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_D ... re_library

There were DSi exclusive games too that went retail. They didn't do too well though otherwise I'm pretty sure more than 5 would have released in the 2-3 years it was still printing games normally.

I'm not saying that they will switch, but part of me doesn't think they would do that with all upcoming games. That would be kinda bad marketing considering the 3DS started off shakey, and then started coming out with good games.

Remember when people said "Oh, it's just another DS but with 3D" Well... now what will people say? "Oh, it's just a new 3DS."

While a game like Xenoblade may not work on older 3DSes, again I don't think they will make the older 3DS not compatible with all games that will come out in the future.

That was me that made the post above, and actually only four games were released... seeing how after viewing the chart again "Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal" was indefinitely delayed for all regions.

Most GameBoy Color games were playable on the GameBoy.
Most DSi games were playable on the DS.

And most 3DS games will be still playable on the 3DS - the won't call them "new 3DS game(s)".
Furthermore some GBC games had special features on GBA like the two Zelda games "from" CAPCOM - Oracle of Ages/Seasons.
They featured an extra shop to buy a ring.

Pokémon featured voice chat on DSi or newer systems and it will probably be the same with 3DS and new 3DS.

They will be sold both for a while before they stop producing. Nintendo CANNOT afford to lose their customers stopping to produce 3DS games and only producing new "new 3DS-only" games.

That most of US citizens do not know that the 3DS features stereoscopic 3D and the Wii U is a new console is due to bad marketing (or you guys being stupid to do some research :P)
