Exploiting a capture-carded 3DS

Post by Myria » Sun Apr 24, 2016 12:04 am

Hi =^-^=

I have a Loopy capture card in my small 3DS, and would like to install a hack called ARM9LoaderHax to it. This involves an operation that if it goes wrong can brick the system.

A 3DS bricked in this manner can be fixed by having a backup of the eMMC flash ROM chip (the "NAND", as 3DS hackers call it). However, restoring from a brick requires soldering wires to the motherboard in order to attach the eMMC chip to an SD card interface.

Is it too much risk to do this to a capture-carded 3DS, because the board makes it difficult to reach? I've never opened up my capture-carded 3DS to know.

Thanks,

Melissa
