Just curious...does anything else besides DualCapture have to be downloaded in order for the game capture card to work on a Mac? Or do I just plug the 3DS in and launch the program? I really want to buy one but I just want to make sure before I splurge..

Thanks in advance for responding!

Smooch wrote::!: Use at your own risk. :!:

 Download: DualCapture Beta 1

The application relies heavily on multi threading techniques. A decent multi core computer would be recommended to use as frames may be dropped if it is not fast enough.

Note: if you used the alfa, it is very wise to delete the ~/Library/Application Support/DualCapture/ folder.

 Extra layouts: DualCapture Extra Layouts
(Not included by default as they are rather computationally intensive at the moment.)

Install plugins by dropping them onto the application in the Dock. You can create your own layouts. Just take a peak at the contents of the layout plugins. If you need help with this let me know. Please also show me layouts you created if you did.

 Differences compared to alfa version:
-Much more robust and completely new frame queueing system
-Support for game audio
-Playback of game audio when recording
-Support for different frame rates (however, the original frame rate is advised as that requires less finalization steps)

 Still planned features:
-HUD
-Narrator audio (Some of it is already done, if you want to have narrator audio now, you should use a separate application to do this.)
-Optional playback of audio (also when not recording)

 Known bugs:
-Glitches when selected second screen as fullscreen while still controlling the window on the first screen
-Audio is sometimes added when it is not finalized (delegate methods)
-Video recording start is not synced with the audio recording (delegate methods) thus may lead to audio syncing problems
-Pause button not enabled after recording
-Video does not finalize for some people

A new version does currently not have a static deadline.
So Loopy just released an update or something like that that allows the audio to go through USB. Do you plan to do the same with the Mac version? I really would like to hear the audio. Any help you can give is always appreciated! ;)

Does the Windows programmer share code with the Mac programmer?

Seems like progress has been made on the Windows side of the house.

Any Mac update in the works?

The Mac version is all new code written by Smooch, there isn't any shared code between the two. I don't have any Mac programming experience so I'm afraid I can't be much help. If he wants to work on audio, I can give more details on how it works.

If you could help him with the audio in any way and he could work on a Mac update that would be really great. :)

Alright, so i've been able to connect my 3DS to my Mac just fine, and take screenshots with it, but when I try to record video I get this screeching noise coming from my computer which messes it up. I take it that's what the noise filter is for. However, i'm not really sure where to plug it in. I've plugged the in side jack into my 3DS, but that doesn't fix the problem. Where does the circular bit on the out side go? Is that used in anything or does it sit by itself? Thanks!

Use an audio cable to connect from your 3DS's headphone jack to your computer's line in (or mic) input. Just dangling the noise filter off of your 3DS is not going to help. Any standard 3.5mm audio cable should work, something like this - http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited- ... 000SE6IV8/

I am planning on getting the 3ds capture board, but before I do, I must be sure that the mac version has what I need to use it for (I only have a mac). I am not using this for the record aspect, but rather for the display. Can someone confirm that they can use full-screen (or relatively close to full-screen), and better yet, be able to switch from the top and bottom screens using Smooch's software? Thanks if you can help.

Well, my setup is that my 3DS is connected to the computer normally, and the audio cable connects into the 3DS' headphone jack, which I attach to the noise filter, then to my computer's headphone jack. That fixes the screechy problem, but now i'm not getting any sound coming from my 3DS trying to record.

edit: I tried flipping the setup (connect audio cable to 3DS and noise filter enters my computer), still not getting any sound from the 3DS (although I am getting background sound effects on occasion). That's my main concern here, making sure I can hear that. I want to be able to get sound from the 3DS and narrate simultaneously.

edit 2: If that's not clear, here's a picture of how I have it set up. http://i1328.photobucket.com/albums/w53 ... 4136ea.jpg
In case you can't see it, the green cable is the sound cable and the black one with the box is the noise filter. Behind my computer is just the cable that I have to connect into my 3DS.

Yes, you can switch the display to top/bottom/both screens, and you can resize it or go full screen. Performance wasn't that great when scaled up, but it might just be my computer; I have an older Mac Mini.
