From GREAT to BAD To WORSE Bad FPC Connector

Post by hak » Mon Oct 29, 2012 7:45 pm

Hey folks I need some help, basically I did a self install which went perfect but the bottom screen had a blue tint. I figured the problem was the Flat cable connector because it fixed after applying pressure, I tried reseating and cleaning still no go. So I tried to reflow this where everything goes bad, bad reflow plastic melts and trace gets pulled. Now I have to hard wire it back.

Does anyone have some sort of pinout I can use? Which point connects to which trace. Thanks!

While of this was happening I somehow managed to destroy my r trigger and crack my midnight purple 3ds....Not a good weekend. Thanks!

I had the exact same problem when I did my self installation, however I never got it to work properly. I too had the colour problem. I narrowed it down to one of the connections on my ribbon cable and the problem cleared up. The only problem I had was that the top screen wouldn't work. I hope this helped, even in the slightest. By the sound of it a solder joint may have come loose and it is displaying a yellow/blue tint.

I did notice that the Fixed picture looks like it has some lines in it that are blue and the Not Fixed image seems to have no lines?
