Sorry, I'm getting tired of fixing his broken boards. Go to him for help. I've gotten like 4 requests in the last week.

Ugh, sorry to hear that you're still getting requests. I keep telling folks they shouldn't assume you'll fix stuff from him just because you've been nice enough to do it in the past. I get the impression that folks are passing around the word that you'll do it, and that's obviously not fair to you.

Plus it takes time away from working on your own cards!

Is it the same problem every time? Make a video of that shiat and outsource that work, say, to LVNeptune.

Four requests though. Jeez. We all could've seen that controller mod that much sooner...

Welp, now we have this thread to link to at least. Maybe I should sig it.

Yes, it's always the same. USB port needs to be replaced.

You think it's a crap component or people just damaging them easily?

Well, crap components are easier to damage easily :P
I've seen katsukity saying elsewhere that his boards are hand assembled (which is bonkers IMO), so there's that...

Fixing it is a fairly simple procedure. I've had my own share of repairs to do ... shit breaks, I understand. I don't mean to badmouth him, I'm just tired of having his problems pushed onto me.

I don't blame you - I feel like part of it is because you're more responsive than they are, ironically.

Okay this thread made me laugh. I have no clue why anyone buys from that guy. A little patience will save a lot of frustration in the end. As for a 3DS XL, there is no real difference for video output to the original. So people should just work with the original 3DS. I know some only own XL's, but for what they are planning to pay for a mod, getting a refurb 3DS is no big loss.
