Looks like my capture board from Loopy is getting some problems.

I bought it from Loopy in October 2012 and have been taking care of my 3DS since. However, recently it's been having problems causing the capture board program to go black. I have it connected and sometimes, the micro USB bit of it starts to malfunction and cause the capture program to go black.

So... I wonder if it can get repaired. Should I contact Loopy via e-mail?

This is the best moment for repair... When it falls off then you might have aready ripped off the pads and this then is not repairable anymore!

Fortunately it hasn't fallen off and I'm grateful for it. It's still intact.

I've seen katsukity saying elsewhere that his boards are hand assembled (which is bonkers IMO), so there's that...

Fixing it is a fairly simple procedure. I've had my own share of repairs to do ... shit breaks, I understand. I don't mean to badmouth him, I'm just tired of having his problems pushed onto me.
What all has to be done to fix it?

I'll find someone (other than him) to fix it-as I've gone to his shop at least six times between both New3DSs. That's a good $200 or so too much.

Of course, it's just a temporary fix until I eventually replace them with yours.

I was curious, hypothetically if I were to get an old katsukity/nisetoro system, and if a problem were to arise, would it be possible to send one to you (or any other 3ds capture card installer) for repair? I understand it must be frustrating to effectively do a "Katsukity repair service" but I also see this post was made several years before they closed shop. EDIT: This isn't specifically asking you, it's a very general "would there be anyone who is willing to look at it if a problem were to arise?" inquiry for anyone.

I'd like to buy a pre-owned katsukity/nisetoro-installed o3ds from someone to potentially save costs, time, and not add to an installer's heavy workload, but as with anything there are always risks to second-hand buying, so I'm trying to figure out what my options are.

No, I'm not there to solve peoples problems just because they want to save money in first place!

Even if I would still pay for costs of service? All this would do is remove the cost of the optimize kit, in theory.

Either way, sorry to bother you. I wanted a 3ds and not a 2ds and you didn't seem to be working with those for the moment anyways.

Yes, if I would be wanting to work on other models I would just place the Capture Cards for it in my shop.
But I'm not interested into it.
