'Cannot render the file'

Post by Greenalink » Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:13 pm

After trying out the new updated software, I get mixed results on playback.
I was doing some test raw recordings before my livestream speed run attempt and the playback was fine.
While keeping the exact same settings, I did a 3 hour raw recording that is under 48gb. The settings were:

-Lagarith Lossless codec at 30fps
- Always suggest RGB as output [ticked]
- Mode: RGB (Default)

Sound
Line-in rear panel pink - The 3DS sound cable is set as default device.
Stereo mix is setted as default communication device.

After the run, the raw video refuses to be played back as it says
"Cannot render the file".

Have any of you users experienced this kind of problem?

Interesting. That's the first time I've heard of that problem. I'll have to do some testing.

is it possible to save the recording or is it gone for good?

The capture software crashed? That's a different problem. There is software that can recover damaged AVI files. I haven't used any, you'll have to search around and try them out.

i forgot to mention that the crash was most likely Xsplit's fault. i was recording and had Xsplit open with the software shown in it and when i closed xsplit, the thing crashed.
