Re: N3DS progress..
Well assuming this seller was the only person who purchased one from the same city it's shipping from, loopy will definitely know the seller...

Sad day today indeed. Someone got scammed out of nearly a grand.

Yeah, which hopefully means Loopy can blacklist them from buying more.
I bought two kits but just so I have them for both of my 3DS XL's. I have no intention of selling them unless very far down the line I decide to.

You've got to be kidding. Someone could've bought a used console and then paid someone to install an Optimize kit, and that still would've cost less than this.
Whoever bought it clearly didn't do any research. Or they just really wanted Loopy's card right then. Either way, absolutely ridiculous.

Re: N3DS progress..
I personally and strongly believe Loopy should limit it to one per customer/address. Yeah, it blows for people who legitimately want two cards for shiny hunting or whatever other uses people come up with that warrant two or multiples, but folks like our eBay friend are exactly the ones that ruin this.
Standing on the shoulders of Loopy’s research and labor and profiting from it, nearly quintuple (more or less) what Loopy charges. It’s pretty disgusting.

Maybe one per customer/address/batch/year. I got a Japanese LL that I'd like to send over some time.
That eBay seller was scum, but that buyer was a real idiot too. Where do you think the buyer's gonna go to get the drivers and 3DS Capture app? At this very site run by the actual creator that lists the real, non-ripoff price. Hell, I bet that seller even pointed the guy over here after the sale.

1. A bunch of people have said to limit purchases but that only limits BULK orders which is really not gonna solve the problem as people (especially resellers) can easily use different addresses / emails to receive the product.SwordOfClubSoda wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 11:03 pm1. Limit purchases to 1 per user (or even better, 1 purchase per IP / email address )
2. Increase the price of the order items by a little.
3. Have more board installations available this time around compared to the 01/14/2023 up-for-sale boards.
(Also when the next boards are up for sale I plan to get 2 so I hope the number is atleast 2 heh)
2. Increasing the price would be feasible but this hurts the average buyer more than then resellers as they can easily pass this price on to who they resell to or based on the recent posts just take a little bit of a hit on the profit.
3. The only downside to this is how much Loopy is willing/can invest as holding product that doesn't sell will cut into his profits.
Someone else suggested preorders which I think can help cutdown on holding unsellable product and I think this is very doable but leaving deposits is always worrisome for some people. This might be true for people who just buy the item to self install but for people who pay for the installation by Loopy this shouldn't be an issue as they have already entrusted their consoles.
The only solution I can think of to slow (not stop) resellers off the top of my head would be a software solution in which the capturing software required an account (preferably one created when buying any Loopy product). Of course there are still loopholes and the added hassle on both sides of the coin but it might curb some resellers out there.
Re: N3DS progress..
If you also looked in the feedback history you can also find that this isn't the first time he/she resold Loopy products.
3x DS+CaptureCard for $750-$800
This doesn't even include people who don't leave feedback so it might be substantially more...
