System won't connect

I bought a capture card and it won't connect to the recording software. I plugged it into the USB port and my computer setting say it's connected, but when I start the recording software nothing comes up. It is a Mac so I'm using Dual Capture, but I have no idea how to connect it. Can anyone help?
