Outer Shell Repair

Hi,

I believe I recently had a cat knock my DS fat off the desk and the shell cracked. Everything worked fine when I went to turn it on and assess damage but it is not looking so hot. I found a replacement fat shell for it. Other than having to cut out a new hole for the capture to be accessible to the cable, does anyone know of the feasibility of re-housing a fat DS with a capture installed? Thank you

Not much different from doing a reshell without a capture card, you'll just have to be careful when removing the capture board with the adhesive. Use something thin and flat and slowly work through the adhesive. You have to do this to disconnect the antenna. Follow the install guide for where to cut on the back shell.

Alternatively you could buy DS in better condition and swap the motherboards, and sell the other for "parts or repair."
