Here's my standard Cut-&-Paste reply I send to someone that emails me about buying only the board.

I used to offer it as an install kit for $150, but I stopped because most people had trouble with it and had to return it. I'll sell you one if you want, but it's not easy to install. The harness that is soldered onto the 3DS is not the right size for the 3DS XL, so no you can not install it to your 3DS XL. Also loopy used to sell just the boards but they had a high failure rate and had to be sent to him to fix anyway.
