Please make sure, you tried to install libusb-dev. The -dev means, that the package contains everything you need to link against the library when building stuff. It would be enought to install libusb.
If libusb-dev is already installed, ... huh. I don't really know why you should get a libusb.h not found error, if libusb-dev is installed...

I figured it out, i had to install a specific version of libusb-dev. So instaead of it being sudo apt-get install libusb-dev, it was actually sudo apt-..... Libusb-1.0.0-dev

My last question which im sure will have you like really? -_-
I dont have the capture card yet, but do plan on purchasing it soon, i just wanna know. Cute3DSCapture wont work unless the ds is connected correct? In ither words if itry to run the command without the ds connected it should result in a "capture_init() error"?

Also since I haven't already said it, thank you so much for helping me but more importantly for dedicating your time to creating a program for linux :)

Oh. I didn't think about the version of libusb, as 1.0 is standard in my distribution. Good to know, that it isn't for some other distributions. I'll add that to the readme :)

Yeah, Cute3DSCapture won't run unless a capture-unit is connected. But I think, I might put some afford into making it "run" without a connected capture-unit to make it more robust if you unplug and replug your card while running the program. But I won't promise this feature, though I'll look into it.

Thank you for playing around with Cute3DSCapture! Trying to get it to run for someone with little knowledge of linux was really helpful for fixing my documentation and made me think about other usefull features :)

I just released a new version of C3C (Cute 3DS Capture). With the new version, you should be able to run C3C without a capture unit attached to your computer. C3C will start capturing, once a capture unit has been detected. Also, this should be more failsafe in cases of a loose contact or similar problems.

I just verified that Cute3DSCapture does run on Macs. You'll need to install buildtools and libusb-1.0 via MacPorts or Homebrew, download and install sfml from their website and compile C3C. Hurray! :)

Nice. I'll give you a DS if you want to add support for that...
