3DS completely broken?

So my 3DS came back today, with the capture board installed. I started it up, starting recording and everything looked really cool.
Then I was setting up on my computer getting ready to do a test stream when my 3DS turned itself off. And now it refuses to turn itself back on.
Also I can smell something kinda smoke-like coming from inside? I'm honestly at a complete loss as to what happened and what to do, I feel like it quite literally exploded for no reason.
