Stupid question I'm sure.

Post by MidwayCJ » Fri Sep 19, 2014 6:31 am

I'm very paranoid about my computer not being able to handle things since I couldn't build one myself, so I was wondering if anyone thought an Alienware m17 laptop would be able to handle capturing and recording footage smoothly and work well with the 3DS capture card?

I know it's a dumb question but I wanted to make sure about others experiences before I dropped 245 as right now I don't have anything beefier.

Thanks in advance.

It should do it. Alienware laptops have very good specs. Without you telling what yours are, I guess everything will work just fine.
I am waiting to receive my 3DS back from loopy and I own a MSI Dominator Pro 890-US. My specs:
-Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX880M / 8GB GDDR5
-RAM DDRIII(L) 12GB(4GB*1+8GB*1)

I think these are overkill but if yours are similar you should be okay. Though I can't confirm until I test it out.

Oops! Sorry yeah I should have posted my specs.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU
8192MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M

I was worried because sometimes fraps lags a bit when I record with it, but I've also heard that's a common problem and it's better to record to an external device. I was worried it'd be the same with the 3DS.

You'll be perfectly fine with those specs.
