3DS Capture Software Help

Right. So, when using the 3DS capture software, The video and Audio work perfectly. Runs like butter. I can also take a picture.
when i run it in administrator mode, Im able to choose where the program outputs the files it would normally record.
Everything else however, does not work. When i try to record, or fiddle with the video/audio settings, It will crash the program.
Im running Windows 7 and i have installed the drivers multiple times. Im able to just pick up and roll with it normally for streaming, But i would like to use the full 3DS Software Capture Program, for it seems rather robust. Is there something im particular im doing wrong?
