Help with use on Linux- Cute3DSCapture

Alright, I am using a linux Ubuntu build of 16.04. I successfully got the 3ds capture program running via WINE, but it does not detect the connected 3ds. So I turned to this forum and tried to get Cute3DSCapture to work, but I have issue creating an EXE with the command qmake, It keeps saying "make: nothing to be done 'first'"
I guess my question, who has successfully made this card run on linux, and will you help me troubleshoot?
