Top screen issue

I've had my 3ds for a while now, but the top screen started to get a blueish tint. The bottom screen is perfectly fine and only the top screen has issues.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

On the physical 3DS or when you're viewing through the software on screen?

It was a hardware issue, but it has evolved into the top screen going past the brightness limit and causing the battery to over heat. This also causes the 3ds to lose all its power randomly.

Sounds like a hardware issue. I'd contact Loopy if you purchased the device from him.
