DS installation guide - flex cable question

Ive seen the offical guide that Loopy put out (thanks for that, it looks very helpful!) and I also checked if I could find some YouTube vids but none of them have that huge flex cable that is seen in Loopys picture install guide. Now I was wondering if this is a new version of the capture card and was wondering what the difference is between these 2 versions of the DS capture card mod. Is the new big flex cable that you have to solder on a new thing and whats the difference?
