Is there required software on the actually N3DSXL capture card?

This is probably a dumb question, but im planning to do a system transfer from my 2DSXL to my N3DSXL.

The capture card won't require a software installed in your N3DSXL, as it taps the audio and video signal directly from the system. It will be outputted to your PC that's running the dedicated software, provided that the correct driver is installed.
