N3DS cards on O3DS?

Hey! I was wanting to know, do the N3DS cards currently being sold work on an original 3DS XL, or are they separate capture units?

no, the cards being sold currently are specifically for the New Nintendo 3DS XL. not the "old" 3DS XL, and also not the non-XL New Nintendo 3DS
