3DS Capture Software freezes

So I've had this N3DSXL cap card since around the first batch that came out and haven't had any problems until recently. If i'm using it for a while the capture software freezes and the only way to fix it is to either close out of the software or disconnect and reconnect the wire into the 3ds. Anyone have any ideas for a fix or what could be wrong?
