New 3ds (non-xl) capture card

Has there been any progress on installing the newest capture card on a small size new 3ds?

Can the kit for the XL be installed into the smaller size?

What compromises would this have?

If you try to use the ribbon cables (XL and non-XL screen pinouts are the same for "New" 3DS), the board won't fit, but it does work. Even with some board trimming and removing the USB C port, there's just not enough room with the current design. If you want to remove the cable latches and solder each pin individually, it might fit, but at that point it's not worth it and it'll be better to just wait for a non-XL specific kit.
