Sounds like it's not receiving a signal from the 3DS. If the screens are working, the cables are probably connected to the 3DS properly. Was it installed by yourself?
Are the screens on the 3DS working?

You can send it in for repair.

The only difference is the style of USB connector. They work the same, buy whatever is suitable for your computer. I have more C-C cables coming in about a week, if you want to wait for those.

It might be this connector, the battery and power button go through it.
Or could just be bad / messy soldering that shorted something out. Hard to say without looking at it.

Messy soldering or damaged connectors could have caused that.
