Hey there, has anyone had any success getting this software up and running on a Steam Deck? I can't seem to figure out a way to get its dependencies installed...
Would be nice to be able to use my Steam Deck as a more convinient means of hooking up my 3DS to my TV, rather than my Windows laptop (Bonus points if there's a way to also somehow get the touch screen to display on the Steam Deck's display. Ultra bonus points if someone figures out a way to get Input Redirection working with full touch screen support too!)
I actually personally use it on a SteamDeck. No idea about Touch support like that... You can technically display the two screens on different monitors, though. Albeit it's not guaranteed to work.
First things first, you need to download the cc3dsfs_linux_x86_64.zip file on the SteamDeck and extract it in a folder, by using Desktop mode.
Check then if it does work like that.
You may need to enable its execution, by either checking the program's properties, or doing "chmod +x cc3dsfs".
Let me know if you succeed in doing that. We can go through configuring the rest once it executes normally.
Compilation on SteamDeck is probably possible, but I personally couldn't figure it out, since Valve removes a bunch of information from the headers, so I just use the pre-built binary myself.
Ahh!!! That did it! Thank you so much!
Finally, I don't have to tear apart my living room setup when playing 3DS games on my TV!
I personally added it as a "Non-Steam game" to launch it from the main menu launcher. I added Controller support as well to cc3dsfs for menus (at least, it worked when I tried using it), so it should work fine even with those.
Just be careful, if you end up doing this, about the resolution cc3dsfs is launched as. Steam likes to reduce the maximum possible resolution, if it thinks it's too high... Personally, I had to change it from the "Property" menu in the main menu launcher to "native".

Yeah, that's what I've done too. Changed the resolution output too in Gaming Mode via the Preferences option and it all seems to work nicely
Thanks a bunch!
I suppose the next thing to request would be built-in support for Input Redirection support, but that's a big ask I admit. I can always use another device for that if need be, even if it's less convinient (I guess the goal would be to make the Steam Deck into an all-in-one solution for TV play).

Holy **** dude. This is absolutely incredible stuff.
Yes, some support for input redirection would be amazing, but I'm going to get this running on my raspberry pi asap!

I'm a tech idiot who is new to a lot of this. Is this software supposed to be used in conjunction with Loopy's 3DS software?

This is just an Open Source alternative to the Loopy software, with a focus on Fullscreen. Anyone can use it, but it's especially useful for people with other OSs (so not Windows), people who have graphical issues with Loopy's software, or people using Windows for ARM.

This is great! Any plans to bring this to iOS/Android? Would love to see my 3DS on my iPad and my Android TV lol

While it may be possible to do so for older 3DS CCs and DS CCs, that sadly wouldn't work for N3DSXLs. The library provider for the CC doesn't have Android and iPhone-based ARM support available, sadly. I did think about doing that, but yeah... Sorry to burst the bubble, but it's not a possibility right now... Maybe in the future if FTDI changes their mind.

Hello !
OS : Linux Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
I've download the repo, unzip package, install SFML dependencies and run the following command :
Code: Select all
cmake -B build ; cmake --build build --config Release
Now, i have two problems :
- My devices (4 old DS) are not detected by the software (and also not detected by Linux)
- Menu have issue too, the selector move itself without stopping, so it's difficult to choose the option i want
===
I'm new on Linux environment, i've so many inconvenient on Windows so i have to change my operating system
Also, i'm not a native english speaker so i can make some fault, sorry in advance
EDIT

I assume you installed the proper udev rules and that got the USB working, right?
This is weird... Do you have a controller or something connected?
The software gets its input from Mice (as in, connected Mouses), Keyboards and Controllers.
I wonder if you have some keyboard key constantly pressed or something?

I don't press anything at all, I don't see where the problem is coming from, I also tried to unplug my keyboard and my mouse (which are the 2 other devices connected) and still this problem
Sometimes I also have a screen that flickers when I put on my 4th console
