So just bought the new 3ds xl capture card and I am happy to find there's an open source version of the app.
What's the minimum requirements for Pi like model and OS?
I plan to make a Pi setup that supports:
1. Vita docking
2. New 3DS XL docking and input redirection
3. Switch Lite docking (low prio since getting a Switch lite oled hdmi mod)

While I plan on adding input redirection support in the software itself in the future, I have no clue about the rest...
For N3DSXLs, with this software, you need a Raspberry Pi 3 for 2D 1080p60 output, and a Raspberry Pi 4 for 2D 4k60 output.
You can find info on the Raspberry Pi setup in the cc3dsfs_rpi_mono_setup.zip file. Do keep in mind that it's desktopless.
I have no clues about any software for the rest of the list though, so your mileage may vary.

So I built this on a 64 bit raspbian for my Pi 3 and the sound has crackles. Any way to fix that? Restarting audio briefly fixes it. I don't have that on the official app on Windows. I also have random noise that appears once in a while when using split window. I am using 720p.
Thanks

A Raspberry Pi 3 is too weak to run this as a normal application with the Desktop also running in the background. Use the cc3dsfs_rpi_mono_setup.zip file which you can find in the various releases. It has instructions on how to use it.
https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/releases (Both the nightly and the official ones)
It will basically run in kiosk mode. Doing so skips Desktop initialization, which helps performance a ton.
I'd recommend doing this on a separate SD card, so it's easy to swap between regular Desktop and Kiosk mode.

Hey! I'm pretty new to Linux so sorry if this a simple question.
- Currently using: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
- Following the instructions on the GitHub, I installed the package for my x86_64 architecture.
- First (after installing the necessary libraries) I attempted to run the application using a command you pasted from a previous answer: chmod +x ./cc3dsfs
- However, it reports that the device is not connected, despite being detected by Linux
- I then tried to run the cmake command: cmake -B build ; cmake --build build --config Release.
- It says that the CMakeLists file is not provided, so I downloaded it from the main GitHub repository.
- Unfortunately, still not detecting my DS originals.
Any help in the basic building process would be appreciated, I feel like I'm missing something! Thanks!

Download the linux_x86_64 nightly from:
https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/ ... tly-latest
Then do the following (it will ask for your password):
Code: Select all
chmod +x ./cc3dsfs ; chmod +x ./install_usb_rules.sh ; sudo ./install_usb_rules.sh
You basically had everything down, however you were missing the permission to access the devices.
The nightly (and the next main version release, once that comes out) has an error which better explains the problem. That combined with the new script and the new Notes in the README.md should make it easier than ever.

Yup, that seemed to be the problem. Everything is working great, thanks!

Official release 1.2.0 is out!
Available here:
https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/releases/latest
With this, support for the new Loopy DS Capture Card has been added. Thanks to Loopy for helping with that!
Support for IS Nitro Emulator and IS Nitro Capture has also been added. Thanks to Gericom for helping with that!
Some settings have been added for Video Effects. Right now they only support changing the Input color space (to avoid bad conversions) and Frame blending options. More are planned in the future.
Support for the new Windows for ARM laptops has been implemented.
Other than that, it's mostly bugfixes and performance improvements.

tried this out with my Loopy new 3ds xl and works just fine. I feel the colours and representation is very accurate. Thanks!

Works great with the retrotink 4k. At least this one doesn't scale weirdly even on windowed mode.
