I've just released cc3dsfs.
It's an Open Source software which supports building for Linux, MacOS and Windows.
Pre-built executables/applications can be downloaded at:
https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/releases/latest.
The software has many features, like: Cropping, PAR, Screens Relative Positions, Individual Screens Rotation, personalizable Profiles, and many more. A README file is included with all releases for instructions.
It supports both a regular windowed mode for recording via OBS, as well as a Fullscreen mode to actually play your games on a monitor/TV.
With main releases (like this one), binaries for Raspberry Pi-specific builds will be included, with support for GPIO buttons.
A setup zip to make it run on Raspberry Pi in kiosk mode is also included, with instructions for the installation.
For now, it works with N3DS XL, DS and older 3DS boards. It also supports IS Nitro devices.
Enjoy!
Below some examples of what you can achieve with it in fullscreen mode (Though let me remind you that it also supports the regular windowed mode for recording).
All images below are taken at 1080p, though the software works even better at higher resolutions (like 4k) due to being able to scale more precisely the screens.
Open in a new tab if they look squished.
Pokémon X, a regular 3DS game.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, a DS game which has the main gameplay on the bottom screen.

Chrono Trigger DS, with the Top Screen's aspect ratio fixed to look more like it did on SNES.

So far so good on my windows 10 and 11 devices the bfi works surprisingly well. I will try to test it on my pi400 later in the week after I change some stuff to make it kiosk mode ready. I could try to daisy chain it a retrotink 4k to see if I can get some screen filters on it on the tv like a lcd filter. One suggestion is maybe have an option to choose the display on which monitor you want to fullscreen in. This can be pretty dope for multi monitor setup with 2 full screen scaled properly

Sadly the base Graphics Library doesn't support monitor choice. However there has been some work in that direction recently, so it might in the future.
Right now, with two monitors connected, if you have the screens split and you select fullscreen, they should (keyword should) expand to the two different monitors.
Updated the description in the release page to better explain which file to use for kiosk mode on Raspberry Pi.

Thank you for making this! I downloaded your app onto my Mac Mini so I can record my N3DS XL capture unit. Keep up the great work!

Released version 1.1.0!
Available here:
https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/releases/latest
The main highlights of this update are support for older DS and 3DS capture cards, audio improvements, new scaling controls, and new PAR modes.
Some signature issues for Apple Silicon builds were also fixed, which should prevent error reports about the application being damaged.

Hey there, has anyone had any success getting this software up and running on a Steam Deck? I can't seem to figure out a way to get its dependencies installed...
Would be nice to be able to use my Steam Deck as a more convinient means of hooking up my 3DS to my TV, rather than my Windows laptop (Bonus points if there's a way to also somehow get the touch screen to display on the Steam Deck's display. Ultra bonus points if someone figures out a way to get Input Redirection working with full touch screen support too!)

I actually personally use it on a SteamDeck. No idea about Touch support like that... You can technically display the two screens on different monitors, though. Albeit it's not guaranteed to work.
First things first, you need to download the cc3dsfs_linux_x86_64.zip file on the SteamDeck and extract it in a folder, by using Desktop mode.
Check then if it does work like that. You may need to enable its execution, by either checking the program's properties, or doing "chmod +x cc3dsfs".
Let me know if you succeed in doing that. We can go through configuring the rest once it executes normally.
Compilation on SteamDeck is probably possible, but I personally couldn't figure it out, since Valve removes a bunch of information from the headers, so I just use the pre-built binary myself.

Ahh!!! That did it! Thank you so much!
Finally, I don't have to tear apart my living room setup when playing 3DS games on my TV!
