Hiya! I've been looking at capture cards for a while now! Well, years ago, my brother had gotten a capture card installed in his (not new) 3ds XL. So, I was wondering if anyone was still offering services to install capture cards into old 3ds XL systems, as that is the 3ds console I currently have.

And if not, I would love to see some listings for capture card installations or any 3ds with a pre-installed card!

Both of these use boards from Optimize.ath.cx, which announced today that they are not accepting orders and have no date set for resuming. Both are over $300 and if you are in the US, will pay a lot in shipping and tariffs.

You can find some pre-installed capture card consoles from Japan.

It would probably be cheaper (and better) for you to sell your old 3DS XL, buy a New 3DS XL, and purchase the $200 installation service here.

oh yeesh, i had no idea the market had shifted towards newer ones that much. The reason I want to stick with my old one is due to my old DS having legit versions of Pokemon Home, Bank, Silver, Red, and other game downloads on the system. And, I'm unsure if those could be ported over via SD card onto a newer system or not. Thank you for your help and suggestions

You can do a system transfer. You would have to buy the New 3DS XL first, do the system transfer, and then sell the old 3DS XL if you want to. You would also have to transfer the files over from the SD card on the 3DS XL to the micro SD card on the New 3DS XL.

Or you can redownload them from the eShop, since it still allows that. Saves wouldn't transfer but anything in the Pokemon Bank will.
