[SELLING] DS Controller Mod & Input Display Installations (Touch Screen Input, Multihunting Possible)
Posted: Sun Oct 25, 2026 4:51 am
This is only for the original Nintendo DS for now. New 3DS XL is slowly being worked on.
$120 per installation. Pricing malleable for multiple installations. Cash App or PayPal only. Contiguous United States for now.
DM on here or on Discord: .vaike.
If this post is still up, then it is still available.
If you are going to get a capture card, get the capture card first.
This mod does two things: takes controller input, and outputs the button states of the DS. You get a dongle for each part. This mod also supports controlling multiple consoles simultaneously.
Gif is a recording of the macro dongle + input display + capture card. Macro is from this blog.
Installation
There are only two installation methods.
Controller Mod
Touch screen input notes:
Only outputs DS button states. No touch screen data is sent. This essentially turns your DS into a USB controller via GP2040-CE, which is able to emulate several controller types and should work on most operating systems. Use it alongside any compatible gamepad tester or with retro-spy (it has a generic PC controller option).
You can use both a controller and the input display simultaneously using a 2.5mm Y-cable/splitter with two inputs and one output. This is intentional, but the cable is not included.
Optional
These are not included. Price varies depending on parts cost.

Spoiler

There are only two installation methods.
- Replace the stylus slot with a 2.5mm jack.
- Replace the original charge port with a 2.5mm jack and a 3D printed holder/cover. This one is only doable if you already have a capture card installed with a hole cut out over the wrist strap slot, which charges the DS anyway.
Controller Mod
- Supports Bluetooth controllers, mainly first-party and some third-party (8BitDo)
- Any controller button can be mapped to any DS button, customizable via the microSD card slot included (stores 5 mappings).
- Turbo on any button
- Touch screen input. Any button can be assigned to a touch screen coordinate. Dual Shock 4 and DualSense controllers can use the touch pads.
Touch screen input notes:
- It is able to reach the edges and there is a calibration mode. I recommend using TouchTest DS since it displays the current coordinate being inputted.
- Since it is inputting an analog signal, there is some jitter. E.g. if may jitter between two pixels like 128 and 129 on either axis.
- As stated above, PS4/5 controller touch pads can directly input a touch input to the DS, however, the input is squeezed. The touch pads are closer to a 2:1 rectangle, but the touch screen is closer to a square. This means that if you were to input a perfect circle on the touch pad, the DS would receive a tall oval.

- Simultaneous control: like the Y-cable but for however many consoles you need it for. One input and several outputs.
- Macro/automation dongle: you can store button sequences on a microSD card and have them output to the DS. Not frame perfect since the mod does not read the clock. I use this for RSE&FRLG Sweet Scent shiny hunting scripts. Zero flashing required on your part. You just need a text editor (Notepad) and a microSD card reader.
