I'm trying to run the DS_Driver_install on my windows 8 laptop and I'm receiving an error stating This app can't run on your PC, to find a version for your PC check with the software publisher.

Has anyone seen this before?

Have you tried running the capture software yet? It should work in windows 8 without installing the driver.

Are you using Windows RT (ARM laptop)?

I did try it without and had no luck. I'm using an HP Elitepad 900 G1 running stock Windows 8 full version. I've considered upgrading to Windows 8.1 but I have heard concerns that doing so may invalidate some of the touch screen ability. Do you have any advise? I sent in an email as well regarding this if you prefer email communication.

Windows 8 shouldn't be the issue. I've tested it in Windows 8 with no problems.

Do you see it in Device Manager?
Try re-downloading the installer? I'm not sure why it would fail to run, you can try installing the driver manually instead. You can get the files here - http://3dscapture.com/ds/ds_driver.zip
Right-click on the device in Device Manager and choose "Update driver software..."

Its showing as an unknown device in device manager. I'll try manually updating the drivers when I get off work. Will keep you updated. That's for the updates. If its not the OS do you think it's the card itself?

No, the card wouldn't cause this kind of error.

That's a relief. If the drivers don't work tonight I'll try on a Windows 10 machine I use for work and see if I receive similar issues. Once these issues are all resolved and its working I may want to purchase another one. Do you know if you will be restocking or happen to have one lying around extra you would like to sell?

Still no luck on the Windows 8 machine says the driver isn't supported for my OS. Should I try to update to Windows 8.1 and see if it works? Windows 10 worked fine no issues.

Updating to Windows 8.1 allowed for the driver install. Not sure what the issue was but that has resolved it. Thank you loopy for the quick reply. I have closed the PayPal resolution. Please keep us updated as more are available.
