How much is a board by itself to install by oneself?

I don't plan on selling standalone boards for self install. At least, it won't be advertised on the site. Mail me and ask directly once I have boards in again and maybe we can figure something out. I haven't thought about pricing at all yet.

Would it be possible to preserve the ir port for those who want to keep the functionality of it?

Do you plan to sell through merki for those in the EU or did they tell you they are closing shop once everything is gone? Meaning to just buy directly from you.

Minor update. Next PCB rev is laid out and ordered. I have a pretty good idea of how I want the final board to look now.
I'm also looking into getting another batch of old 3DS boards made, because ... why not. Clearly there's still demand for it. I've wanted to retire the old design for quite a while but this will hold things over til I get something new going.

Is the batch for the old board in progress or has it not happened?

The sooner the better obviously, but I'm not going to try to guess a date yet.
Once the design is finalized, it usually takes about a month to get boards in (China manufacturing). I can pay more to expedite if needed, but the usual rate is about a month.

I understand, but it wasn't clear if he was referring to the 3DSs or the 2DSs or both. That's why I'm asking. I think he's focusing on 3DSs first from another post he made and from other posters talking more about the New 3DS XL boards, but I wanted to know if for sure he will be making New 2DS XL boards right after the 3DS ones and the ETA for them.

I wouldn't mind sending in my original 3ds. I would send in my other 3ds (the new 3ds xl) but I'd rather not. Parental reasons mainly.

Will it be cheaper to send a system in for an install or will it be more efficient to buy one preinstalled?
