So just to clarify regarding the usb charging. There is no risk of frying any components the way they are now, correct?

I can't say 100% guaranteed, but it's highly unlikely. And every computer SHOULD have protection built in already.
FWIW, any other DIY USB charging mods that you've seen are the same way.

EDIT: Also I may not get a New 3DS XL capture board for a while. I'm focusing on getting whatever 3DS & Wii U games I can get before the eShop goes. Hopefully once it becomes available, I'm making sure to invest in it.

Since I don't have an N3DSXL I can currently send in, if I do purchase the capture card, would it be possible to send it in at a later date when I do get one?

That can be useful. And being someone that has big hands, it's pretty surprising that it may be needed for some people.

I'm okay with using the 3DS since I mostly use it to record stuff like RPGs as they are easier for my hands.

Refresh the page. I had to do that when I got the "3DS Capture isn't available at this time" message (I went for the USB-C to USB-A type).

Running a bit late, sorry. Order page was slapped together quickly, I'll worry about making it pretty later.
I'll have to juggle the stock numbers (boards vs installs) when things start running out, I'm not sure how much of each to expect.
