With OBS you Right Click -> Add-> Window Capture onto the 3DS Capture software.

Since there is a Top and Bottom screen you have 2 options here:
- Add 2 Window Captures onto the 3DS Capture Software, Crop the Top and Bottom screens, and Keep the 3DS Capture Software as 1 window
- Or click the "Split Window" button on the 3DS Capture settings(record, volume etc) window and Window Capture them so you won't have to crop each one. But you'll have an extra window opened.

This is my layout for most 3DS games:

As far as other OBS settings, you won't need more than 720p for the 3DS as its resolution is much lower.
I've used 1700 bitrate for my Pokemon X/Y streams last year. It looked fine and viewers didn't have issues watching.

I like your setup, JoshDJX. I dig the space-y theme.! :) I'm looking forward to playing against you on Smash Bros when it comes out. I'll be streaming it as well.

Yep, nice layout. Folks might choose to use the area to the right also to put up a webcam if they like.

I put up a webcam and capture my chat on the screen with the bottom window below that:

Hi guys!

After I did a format of my PC OBS is suddenly acting strange. When I try to window capture my 3DS software I get a still image.
Have any of you experienced this before and know of a solution to this problem?

Kind Regards
Jørgen

I don't know what's up with OBS, it doesn't work for some people and the root cause hasn't been tracked down yet.

I have to set up the window every time for some reason.
Other emulators and windows record fine when i get back to it, but with the 3dscapture, every time I have to set it up.
Not a big problem but not very convenient.
