I assume Katsukity is using a smaller board or a combination of boards inside the console to maximize the use of space inside similar to the 3DS XL.

That new USB port position is awful.

I know but it still looks "wrong". And there are only few games that support the CPP. I prefer my board from Loopy.

wonder if there is a way to make it a dual charge/recording usb and replace the charger port.

The output on the 3DS charger is 4.6v @ 900mA, while a USB port can output 5v @ 100mA with a maximum of 500mA. This will not be enough to charge the 3DS and power the capture board.
