Well since it stood for Developer System first and then adopted Dual Screen I do not see a problem.

I thought they changed that with the release of the 3DS to "Three Dimensional System" or something along those lines.

The acronym isn't short for anything. People just dubbed it "Dual Screen" etc.

That would be kinda pointless, I think you can capture from a PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 just with a special component/composite wire, in tandem with a capture device that can capture said signals.
