If you're still in the process of developing it completely, can there be an option to have just the Capture Card and save the videos directly to the 3DS XL itself? Then I could just slide the card into a computer, save the video to an SD card, and then that way I have it on my 3DS AND I can edit the video on my computer without the extra stuff I'm given with the ENTIRE Kit. Is that possible?

No, sorry. Recording videos to the 3DS SD card won't be an option.

A screen recorder won't do him much good though. Since he can only record his pc screen...and he has no way to display 3ds games on there.

As far as the webcam comment goes, you aim it at your screen and record that way. It's literally the only other option besides getting a capture card mod.
