Don't use the test version anymore, audio has been added to the public release version.

For some reason when I connect my 3ds is displays video and sound for about 1 second then glitches and turns off. It had done this with the previous version as well. But I would usually get it to work with a reboot of my pc. The reboot did not help this time.

I'm running windows 8.1 and am running the program as an administrator if that makes any difference.

Wait, what turns off? The 3DS? Your computer? Or the software crashes?

Like it just stops capturing. Nothing actually turns off. It shows the capture for a brief second and then it stops. I'm uploading a video in just a second.

EDIT: Well youtube just decided to make the video shorter and cut out the black space. SMH

Does the USB disconnect? Or does it just go black? What happens if you unplug it and plug it back in? Have you tried it on any other computers?

No the usb stays connected.(When I pull the usb out it makes the disconnect sound) When I plug the usb back in it does the same thing. I'll give it a go on my laptop, and report back in about 5 minutes.

EDIT: Wait, does the Power cord need to be plugged in as well? I didn't even think about that until just now, but it seems to work now that I have.
-- Actually it almost seems like a connection problem. It will work until i put the 3ds down or move it weird. Then I have to fully disconnect it and reconnect it for it to work.
---- Then again, this is on a 10' usb cable. If I use a 4' cable(Which isn't quite long enough to be comfortable) it seems to be working. I'll have to fool around a bit.

The sound comes through except it sounds a little echoed during playback. For audio are we supposed to choose Stereo Mix? Line in doesn't work (obviously) but is there a specific one to choose?

3ds capture is going to play the sound through your default playback device. Basically if you're capturing the default sound it should work. you shouldn't need to add an additional audio input.

--The way I actually have my sound set up is I have a Virtual audio cable installed, and I'm using it as my default sound device. Then I have it set to "Listen to this device" on the properties in the recording devices section. So basically it will work as default sound OR I can specify it as an input device.

So would the USB be its own input device that I could select? I'm looking in the options for audio and I only have Line in and Stereo Mix. My default playback is my speakers and my default recording is line in.

Use stereo mix, it doesn't let you record from USB directly (yet?)
