Accessing L and R buttons?

Had a 3DS capture board for a little while now, but now my R button isn't working (the blowing on trick isn't working, either). I'd like to open it up to see if I can fix/replace it, but the capture board is in the way and I don't want to unplug it for fear of damaging it. Is there a good way to do this?

Edit: looking inside, I can see the strip connecting the button to the motherboard is cleanly broken; my only option is probably to get a new one. If that counts for anything.

If you don't want to do it yourself, you could send it back. I have a few spare parts...

Hmm . . . like I said, I'm having a hard time getting to the buttons themselves because I'm afraid of wrecking the board. If I sent my 3DS back (same address as last time, I assume), what would I have to pay?
