DS Phat won't power on

I sent in my DS to have the capture board installed and have been using it for the past 3-4 days so far without any problems. Then today I suddenly attempt to turn my DS on, and it won't budge. I thought this was odd since my DS was off the entire time and connected to my PC via USB. After plugging it into the wall, however, it does seem to charge for about 2 minutes, before the light turns off. Whether or not my DS is connected to my AC Adapter, it simply refuses to turn on.

Any tips, or am I just SOL?

Usually if it charges but doesn't turn on it's a fuse that blew. Fairly easy to replace if you can solder.


EDIT: You have tried without a USB cable correct?

Correct. And I am not really knowledgeable nor confident in my ability to handle a soldering iron.

Do either of the screens flicker when you attempt to turn it on or just nothing at all?

If it's completely dead when you try to turn it on, it's probably a blown fuse. If the power light turns on briefly and shuts off, a cable is probably loose inside. Maybe it's related to the capture card, I don't know. I can take a look at it if you want to send it back.

Yes, the screens don't turn on at all when I hold the power button. This may be capture card related, but my DS is also rather old after all so it could just be a bad coincidence. In any case, I'll send it back so thank you very much for offering to look into this, loopy!
