You said that it was better to have a multicore computer for recording.
I have a laptop that is dual core with a clock frequency of 2.13GHz and I am planning on getting 3DS with a capture card in a few months.
My question is will I experience any lag while playing even if I use a recording software on my computer?

I have a 2.2 GHz dual-core laptop. Recording with Xvid is perfect for me, and I can use Fraps to record as well. You should be fine. If you decide to livestream, you might have some issues though.

You should try different codecs out and than you can find a good balance between quality and recording speed.

Close other CPU intensive applications.
Set the priority of the 3DS capture app to "High" in Windows Task Manager.
Video has poor quality.
Try adjusting the codec quality settings or use a different codec.

I'm just worried that even that won't fix it. BTW I haven't even ordered it yet so I'm really not sure how well it will run even with all those settings.
