How do you charge the ds with the kit not the pre built

I bought the DS install kit and had my brother install it, and I charge my DS the same as always: with the charger.

I don't really trust USB charging if the system didn't originally use USB. I'm reminded of this post from loopy (granted, it was about the 3DS, not the DS):

No, I'm not going to make it charge over USB. I've already tried. It doesn't work reliably on some computers, it draws too much power. Katsukity used to do this mod, I don't think he does anymore. I kept getting failing boards from people because of it, I told him to knock it off.

So it’s just like charging a normal ds?

Yeah, no problems. I think the USB charging that was mentioned on the order page was a separate mod in addition to the capture board.

I should add it to the instructions sometime. There's only one extra wire to solder in.

3DS pulls more power, I've never had issues with DS and I've doing the charging mod on all of them for as long as I've been selling them.
