Audio Problems

When I connect a aux cord in my ds capture card to my pc why is the audio compressed and sound different than normal.

Where is a line in on a laptop?

Depends on the laptop. It might only have a mic input. You should take a look at your audio settings and see what the recording quality etc is set to.
