N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
Hello,
I was using my New 3DS XL capture board last night with Pokémon Black and noticed that the audio channels were swapped - my own Pokémon's noises in battle came out of the right side, while the opponent's came from the left. This is opposite of how it is intended, and I have no idea how it took me this long to catch it.

Any chance of a quick software update or something to fix it?

Re: N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
Is it always swapped for you? Because it seems correct when I test it. I'm wondering if maybe there's a bug that causes it to flip sometimes...
Re: N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
I've noticed it in the previous two times I've used my 3DS, though it could have been going on much longer - I'll investigate older VODs after work to find out.
Re: N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
Sorry it took me a while - I got sidetracked lol. I pulled up the first stream I did with what I believe was the first non-beta release of the software and the issue still exists.

Could it be because I'm using NDS software?

These things can be finicky. Have you tried changing USB ports? Restarting the software while the capture card is plugged in? USB 2.0, believe it or not, may be the most compatible.

Does USB2 matter for this card specifically? It's plugged into USB3 everywhere along the chain and reports in the F12 menu.SuperBeefJerkey wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 4:43 amThese things can be finicky. It appears to make no difference where I plug it in or when I start the program; the audio channels are swapped either way. USB 2.0 ports exhibit the same issue.
Re: N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
That shouldn't make any difference.
I'm not certain this fixes it, but give this a try.

Note the Pokémon's cries only play on the speaker corresponding to the side of the screen they appear on as intended.

Re: N3DSXL Swapped Audio Channels
Just to back this up, I tested it as well. The older software brought mixed results, but this one seems consistently correct. I noticed it included a firmware update for the board.loopy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 11:28 amThat shouldn't make any difference.
