(RESOLVED) N3DSXL cap charging, but no video/sound

Hello!

My N3DSXL (NTSC, custom firmware) cap card i got today is working, charges when i plug into the usbc port, and is fine. when i try to use my 3ds capture program, it doesn't work.

My other n3dsxl (JPN, no custom firmware) works, everything is fine.

ive tried :
different ports,
both at the same time,
different cables (that work on the jpn but not my new one),
downloading both 5.2 and n3dsxl driver and restarting

any other ideas? @loopy this is the Pokemon Sun/Moon N3dsXL I just received from you today

Can you check what's reported in the debug console?

Here's what i get when i plug in my working, jpn n3dsxl with the debug console:

closing

N3DSXL, SN=nxl010371, FW=10, USB2

3DS open

When I plug in my new n3dsxl, (ntsc, the problem n3dsxl), it just says:
closing
closing

under device manager, my device shows up as
FTDI FT600 USB 3.0 Device
(for reference, the JPN working n3dsxl shows up as FTDI FT601 USB 3.0 Device)

I tried removing the memory card as well but i still get the double closing message on the debug console

FIXED RESEOLVED CASE CLOSED

i deleted 3ds capture
i reinstalled
i tried it, only picked up the one that worked before (tears, sorrows)
i was like hm maybe ill take all the other DSs out
i took all other connected DSs out (i had 4 connected) (loopy fan here)
then and only then did a message show up
"would you like to update the firmware"
HELL YEA I DO
updated that shhiiiii
popped it back up
sent up a prayer
IT WORKED
i tried opening two. THEY BOTH WORK
audio is fine, video is fine, the kids are alright

god is good
