OG DS Capture No Longer Charging Off of USB

Title explains issue. I have a phat DS that was modded by Loopy, and it doesn't charge off of USB anymore. It still takes charge when I use the normal charging port, but not off of USB anymore. When I plug in the USB port to the DS, the charging light flashes orange for a split second, then stops. While I had the DS plugged into my computer, it was draining power off the DS and it almost ran out of battery. Is there any fix? Do I need to get it repaired?

Weird. I'm not sure. I'm guessing a connection came loose somehow ...? I'll fix it if you want to send it back.
