No Connection with 5.3 after firmware update.

Anyone else experiencing this? I just downloaded the newest version, plugged in my 3DS, completed the firmware update - then nothing but black screens in the viewer. Tried going back to 5.2 but I guess because of the firmware update, that's no longer working either. Software says "Not Connected". Did all the basic troubleshooting - restart PC, unplug/replug, reinstalled the driver but no success.

I had two N3DSXLs installed with capture cards, and I went through the same experience with both. Both were working prior to the new software version/new firmware update.

Checking in - my capture card systems are pretty much out of commission since the new update.

I updated to version 5.3 and got an error when updating the firmware. I tried a few more times, and once it went further but failed again, and now the capture card software won't detect the capture card. The debug log says this when connecting the card

Well .. that isn't supposed to happen. I rechecked the software to see if it's bugged somehow. It seems to be working right.

There are safety mechanisms that should prevent that, but a specific sequence of failures can still lead to an update going badly.
Failing multiple times makes me suspicious though. I don't know.

If that's all you see, then it's probably an unrecoverable error. The board's not fried but needs to be reflashed manually. I can send replacement boards, or if you'd rather send the 3DS back I'll take care of it.

I think I'd be more comfortable sending in my systems again. Idk why, even though I installed an OG DS capture board myself successfully, I've been kinda afraid to do the same with my two n3DS consoles

For future reference, how do I access the debug log?

You're able to access it by pressing F12 on the capture software
