Top screen replacement when sending n3DS XL in for install

Would it be possible to get my top screen replaced when I send my n3DS XL in for a capture card install? The previous owner of the console seemingly spilled soda on it, leaving this weird discoloration on the corners of the screen. I took off the screen lense to try to remove it, but it looks like it's part of the screen
