DS boards anytime soon?

Old vs new


First batch of boards are due to come in this week. I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet.

There's a problem with them and they are going to be scrapped. I have more ordered already, they are probably a week or two behind these.
In the meantime, I am working on getting the software updated and ready to go.

Is there any new features with the new boards or is it just a simpler design change?

There are some changes.

It captures 18 bit color (old design was 16bit). It's a small detail and probably won't be noticed in most cases...
Some more background on that.

And it captures audio. No need for an aux cable, and should sound cleaner since it's grabbing a digital audio source.

A design mistake I didn't catch until it was too late.
I could hack together a workaround, but I'd rather get it right from the start and not have to maintain support for different versions.
