I too was hoping that Loopy would be able to create a capture board for the regular New 3DS. It's very tempting to pre-order the Pokemon New 3DS right now, but I'll definitely hold out on buying a New 3DS XL + capture board from him directly.

According to merki (Tecd0c) on Pages 7 and 8, yes, Loopy will still be selling the regular 3DS capture boards (as well as regular DS capture boards) along with the New 3DS XL capture boards.

Hi,

Stefan (Tedoc) modified my classic DC for capture and I was really impressed by the work he did. I've given some feedback below:

Service/communication 10/10
I was in constant contact with Stefan over email and he emailed me as soon as my card arrived, my ds arrived etc always kept me informed of what was going on. He answered all the questions I had and was it was a pleasure doing business with him! Great guy!
Turn-around time of the installation was really quick too ;the DS arrived in Germany on Friday and he sent it back out Sunday - I was playing it on the following Wednesday! Really speedy! I cannot fault the level of service he provides.

Design Modification 9/10
Again I was impressed at how subtle the modification was; when unboxing the DS at first I had thought nothing had changed - the console was still in great condition.
The only thing I can criticise is that the capture card takes up some of the space where the DS pen should fit. I wasn't able to put my pen back into the slot after the modification. However this isn't a big issue for me and I probably think the design of the capture card has been improved for 3ds and beyond to allow for the pen to be re-inserted (it might even be a nintendo design-flaw, I'm not sure - but no matter!).

Set-up for PC and testing 10/10
Everything was included in the box - setup CD and cable. I installed the drivers from the website (Stefan emailed me the links for these) and then ran the Classic DS capture program with my DS plugged in an voila - i was playing!
I play on a 40 inch monitor and there is 0 input lag when playing pokemon; it is absolutely BRILLIANT. Further, the bilinear scaling is great and you'd be surprised how good a 40 inch full screen looks.

Overall I'm really happy with this. My motiviation for getting my classic DC modified was because i wanted to test the whole experience of getting a capture card installed whilst waiting for the N3dsxl capture card to be released. I can definitely say that I will be going ahead with the newest model (when it's released) because i was so impressed by the service and product he has provided me :)

Thank you Stefan

This is the Newsletter as of 2016.02.21

I hope you all arrived safely to the New Year and have survived Carnival :)

After yesterday’s meeting with Neal (Loopy) there is some good news that I would like to share with you:

As previously announced, we did continue the production and sale of all our Capture Cards models: 
  • As always the Classic DS Capture Card must be pre-ordered. Because of the low demand only pre-ordered quantities will be delivered from us, so you should expect the delivery in about 2 weeks after your order.
  • The (old) 3DS Capture Card has been produced again in sufficient quantities. Depending on the transport and customs times our delivery will arrive in about 3 weeks. A week in advance we start a presale. The shop will take preorders on the 06. March 2016 from 12: 00h.
  • After a few prototypes the NEW 3DS XL Capture Cards has come now as a final sample. If everything is in good, the series production begins :). This means that in about 6 weeks the sales can start!
The prices for both of the new Capture Cards (old 3DS & New 3DS XL) will fall slightly, to $ 200 (USD) - in Europe 239 EUR (that is the US price plus customs and sales tax including).

Also, both services are offered, the sale of complete systems and installation in your preowned consoles.

Finally I would like to get back to Neal (Loopy) again, he's doing fine 
He's just been very busy at his other job that he is involved into (firmware programming), this he still makes for a friend. But he’s almost done with it, in a few weeks he will open his Store (US site) and start selling and installing his 3DS Capture Cards!

Can you give a price for the installation on already owned consoles?

The price they gave includes installation on your console, I believe. That's how it was before.
